Controversial Issues

Taking a summer class about Contemporary Health Issues is quiet interesting. It feels kind of cool to have students look up to my thoughts and ideas. I think its because I'm the only one that works in the health care field and I have opinions that I back up with facts (or what I call My opinionated facts).

Some of the topics we discuss are....

Should Pro-life providers like pharmacist be able deny prescriptions based on conscience (for example the morning after pill)?
-does it effect patient care, individual passes the time limit and has to struggle with abortion?
-or do we have to deny our moral rights or limit our career options even though we live in a country stating we have freedom of religion?

Do Religion and Prayer benefit Health?
-Based on clinical studies, statistics and science cannot measure spirituality and its effects. Some cases prayer proved to help but others case were hopeless
-Case studies that where patients with no hope experience healing due to prayer

Can the Cervical Cancer vaccine for girls be allowed to be mandated by the state?
-Prevent cancer and spread HPV the can lead to cancer. Protect the human population from a strand of cancer.
-Or girls have their individual right to decide to receive or decline the vaccine.

Does obesity cause a decline in Life expectancy?
-Increase the risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, hypertension
-Dieting and supplements are result of these diseases not obesity itself due to the fact that individuals trying to reach the ideal weight, 65% of americans are considered obese or overweight (including Brad Pitt and George Clooney are considered overweight, I thought that was funny).

Embryonic Stem Cell research?
-lets just say a super controversial topic

Well we all have our opinions about these topics and their are no wrong answers because in America we all have the freedom to express our thoughts and beliefs!!!

Song of the Week

Love Thing Song!!! Been listening to it for the past month and can't get bored of it yet!!! The words have so much meaning behind them, Just an encouraging song!!! Hope you guys like it.

Did you hear of the city on the hill?
Said one old man to the other
It once shined bright and it would be shining still
But they all started turning on each other

You see, the poets thought the dancers were shallow
And the soldiers thought the poets were weak
And the elders saw the young ones as foolish
And the rich man never heard the poor man speak

And one by one, they ran away
With their made up minds, to leave it all behind
And the light began to fade, in the city on the hill
The city on the hill

Each one thought that they knew better
That they were different by design
Instead of standing strong together
They let their differences divide

And one by one, they ran away
With their made up minds, to leave it all behind
And the light began to fade, in the city on the hill
The city on the hill

And the world is searching still
But it was the rhythm of the dancers
That gave the poets life
It was the spirit of the poets
That gave the soldiers strength to fight
It was the fire of the young ones
It was the wisdom of the old
It was the story of the poor man
That needed to be told

It is the rhythm of the dancers
That gives the poets life
It is the spirit of the poets
That gives the soldiers strength to fight
It is the fire of the young ones
It is the wisdom of the old
It is the story of the poor man
That's needing to be told

One by one, we'll be running away
With our made up minds to leave it all behind
As the light begins to fade, in the city on the hill
The city on the hill

One by one, we'll be running away
With our made up minds, to leave it all behind
As the light begins to fade, in the city on the hill
The city on the hill

Come home
And the Father's calling still
Come home
To the city on the hill
Come home

Song of The Day!!!

Song of the Day!!!!

This song has been stuck in my head all day. And if you know me it's always only a sentence of the song that gets repeated over and over in my head. The sentence today is... "You can take away the very air that i've been breathing, But you can't take away my God, oh my God....." Such important words!!!

Well this song has been stuck in my head since yesterday night after my night chemistry class. I was listening to my ipod while driving home and for some reason this song just got stuck in my head. I've listened to this song like a million times but yesterday this song really touched me. The words are so strong!!!

Based on the my recent life's situations, I feel like many thing have been recently lost and taken away from me. And since i'm a really reserved person I cannot share my ultimate innermost feelings. But this sentence from this song is so powerful. It states that the world or who ever it might be, can take away everything from us (thing that are very close to our hearts) but they cannot take away our God. So we can still hope and have faith for the future because God never can be taken away from us. So through hard times went it seem like there is no hope, Our God is still here with us to protect and give us faith!!!!

So "You can take away the very air that i've been breathing.... But you can't take away My God!!!. Oh my God...."

So we will make it!!!! See ya guys later ;-)

And ice skating with christmas music which is more toward the end of fall but it just so much fun!!!!

My one of my plans for my upcoming New York City trip is to go to the Rockefeller Center iceskating rink this November. I've always wanted to go there one day!!!! Its just looks so romantic and stuff. I hope my expectations are not to high cause I really want to enjoy this place!!

Verse of the Day

And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's condemnation.

Verse of the Day

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. "
-Romans 12: 12

Just a verse of encouragement. God has given us a new day to start a new beginning. Despite all of our challenges, He is still with you. So give your life to God and let him lead you. Just take that step and see where He takes you!!
